She is missed

Marlene56 was my wife. She passed away on7-7-19. Her breast cancer recently moved to her liver and she was being treated with Taxotere. The treatment was horrible for her. She ended up in the hospital a week after her third round of Taxotere. She never made it back home. Her liver enzymes had almost come back to normal. I am convinced it wasn’t the cancer that finally got her but the Taxotere. She should have never been given the last treatment. Thank all of you for responding to her posts on this site. We all miss her so much.&

I'm so sorry for your loss! I've decided that the side effects of many of the drugs they prescribe to us are worse than the disease! Sadly, we are case studies instead of people to the pharmaceuticals. Verzinio almost did me in and my Oncologist finally admitted that of all his patients, only 2 had been able to tolerate it! Sad.

Stay strong, remember the good times. I've told my husband that when I'm gone, go out and do all the things we no longer could. And live.

Thank you so much for letting us know! And I'm so saddened with you and your family. Losing a spouse is always rough but when it could have been the treatment, that makes it so much harder to deal with! Did her doctor(s) meet with you after she died to talk about it? I'm clergy and worked as a hospital chaplain for awhile and that was pretty standard in the big hospitals I had the most experience with. If Marlene's onc didn't arrange to meet with you and other family members, it is reasonable to ask for a meeting. Some oncs are much better at talking with families than others. I hope you and your family are surrounded by love and support. Do know that marleneb56 will be missed here! Sending love, prayers and cyber hugs.......

No the doctor did not meet with us after her passing. I would welcome that meeting. We have many unanswered questions.
