I had an MRI last week and boy was I irritated afterwards. It's not my first MRI, but it was the last of a series of 3 scans within a week and a half's time. When I got out of there, I felt so irritated and irritable-- just not myself. It took a few meditation sessions, lots of water and time for it to dimish. I read up about it and it makes sense since we're electromagnetic energy fields as well, that the MRI's strength and different frequencies could upset our personal energy field. Has any one else had this happen? And, a heads up to those headed into an MRI -- so you're not taken by surprise.

MRI after effects?
No but I am a strong believer in our energy fields and am nit surprised at this. Personally, I do energy work every morning in the shower. I do a condensed version of the breathing, and knee slapping March and shoulder pull. We are all controlled by energy fields so it only makes sense
I'm usually a pretty laid back person but MRI's make me want to hit people! For me, it's the noise! My husband got me "industrial' ear plugs from a friend who works in a loud factory and my onc gives me an Rx for Xanax or Ativan before each MRI. I get thru them with that kind of help but I sure don't feel my best after them. Talk with your onc about how you feel.
Also I found a really great resource for anxiety and other mind stuff. There is a website called healthjourneys, I can never remember if it is .com or .org but they have CDs and downloads of work by a psychologist named Belleruth Naparstek who has done alot to study the mind body connection and has prepared relaxation work for us. Her voice is really soothing. The therapist who played one on Cancer at a bc weekend retreat I attended said that she had listened to the CD on Surgery and when she had breast reconstruction, the surgeon told her that she had the least blood in the surgical field of any patient she had ever operated on. I used the Surgery CD and now when I check in to the hospital for any procedure, including MRIs, my blood pressure is normal instead of thr the roof like it was before. I suppose it wouldn't be for everybody but it is worth taking a look at!
