Had my first acupuncture treatment today and it was great! Went into my appointment feeling down and after the first needle I immediately felt a sense of calm and well being. Love the fact that the acupuncturist is an integrative oncologist who works in collaboration with my regular oncologist. I'm planning to sign up for Reiki and a massage during my next visit! Headed outside to plant my herb garden!

Acupuncture
I’ve been having acupuncture for a while now..love it...cured my night sweats and helps with pain a bit
I had to cancel last weeks appointment and I noticed an increase in my pain levels so going tomorrow for a top up!!
Definitely works for me..those night sweats were horrendous
Good luck

Barb,
So glad to hear it is working for you! How often do you receive treatment?

Hi Jade
I’ve had 9 treatments so far..I try to go every week but sometimes miss a week..holidays etc...I’m away next week so will miss again
However it’s made a huge difference to the sweats but even though I still have back pain..she’s shown me some acupressure points that I can press on myself (with the tip of a biro!) and I have some little poppy seed plasters to put on some areas but I find these tricky to place and they fall off in the shower!!
Certainly worth trying
All the best

I too have acupuncture treatments, it helps my back.
One of the women that I met at a mbc support group got acupuncture regularly and found it really helpful. Do any of you who do it have insurance that covers acupuncture? I've wondered how common it is to have insurance that pays for acupuncture......
Thanks! I'll have to check my plan. I think one of our dogs could benefit from acupuncture, too.
Greetings: Sister/warrior It is good to know that their are Integrative Oncology Dr.s. These specific Dr.s must be far and few between. I have two General Integrative doctors, and 2 homeopathic Dr's I have consulted with when I need specific information on healthier modalities and, or ailments. I am happy your very first acupuncture treatment gave you calming relief. Gods green earth is my #1 priority for any ailment !!!. God bless you for trying newer modalities, that years ago people called these certified professionals quacks, and yesssssss years ago I was one of those nay sayers. Not anymore.
ladies that have continued with acupuncture, how's it going? I have been having really bad knee (joint) pain. My oncologist recommended acupuncture, but also reminded me that it isn't covered by insurance...so any and all pearls of wisdom on the matter would be appreciated.
