I am quite literally falling apart! Two weeks ago, my dental bridge fell out of my mouth! Then a couple of days later, one of my (new as of Dec) hearing aids fell out of my ear! LOL Neither cancer related, but I just had to laugh and share!

Yesterday I saw the dentist and now am sporting a temporary bridge of a different type than the one that bailed on me. I had my first bridge in that spot, lower second tooth from the front, for over 40 years and several dentists commented that it has been very well done and was in difficult location to bridge. This second one fell out three times, the first two times just days after I got it! The dentist used progressively stronger cement.

I've only had hearing aids since late Dec 2018 and lost one completely two or three months ago. Had to get a replacement and was given a comparably low price for that, but was told any more losses would cost the original price and would not be covered by insurance. Adding it to home owners insurance was suggested, something I never would have thought of. Anyway, in the last month, one or the other of them have fallen out at least 3 times so I have an appt Thurs to see if I need a larger cone shaped thing that goes in my ear.

When I have little health crises like this that don't involve cancer, I really have to laugh! The only cancer crisis I have had in the 15 years I've had mbc, besides the original diagnosis and crap that goes w ith that, was my dear onc retiring at the end of last year. I am so fortunate in so many ways! And a good sense of humor does help me alot.

A humorous take on life’s little problems and humiliations. All is dwarfed in the shadow of this d@mn mbc. I’m having my own self deprecating, humorous issues with allergy season. The mantra: sneeze, cough, pee, change undies. Rub eyes until you’re blind. Repeat. Yes I wear a pad. Today I very reluctantly put on one of those “designer” paper panties. I hope I don’t pee myself before the faslodex shots today. And although these meds change the hair distribution on your body (wink wink), try ungluing yourself if you get stuck on the pad adhesive. Ugh. 😂 Gotta laugh.

I've had hay fever type allergies my whole life though when I lived in Wyoming, the air wasn't as pollen and dust filled as it has been everwhere else! Allergy desensitazation shots helped alot back in the 1970s and 80s. Now they have hit again. I talked to the pharmacist at the local pharmacy where I get time limited Rxs filled and he said that the best OTC anti-histamine for me is probably Zxyxal (sp) and it does seem to help. I also use Flonase spray and sometimes add a benedryl at bedtime. Where I live, the two medical specialities that are in shortest supply are allergists and dermatologist. And no geriatric specialists, which is what I would like for primary care, as I'm in my 70s and have a gazillion diagnoses! This sure is not how I expected to live my retirement! lol My grandparents lived a very long time......86 and 101, and my dad and his sister lived to mid 80s and 90s.....so I expected to live at least to 85 and probably longer. My brother, 3 years younger than I am, is the only member of my family left living. Fortunately, he and I like one another and treat each other well though we live far from each other. My husband is good at supporting me as are our daughters.

My crazy hair got thicker and curlier on Femara and Faslodex. Some of that has changed but I've sure lost alot of hair places besides my head. I don't have to shave my legs anymore , which I like.

I hope you are able to find a way to manage those allergies. They are sure a drag!

Hi PJBinMI!

That is so funny! We need to have a laugh whenever we can!

Right before my diagnosis last year, I had a few crises of my own. My fridge/freezer packed up, both microwaves died, as did my electric kettle and so did my boiler! I'm fact, the day I was going to see my doctor about the lump was when a technician was installing my new boiler. I didn't think things could get any worse and then I was diagnosed. I try to find things that make me laugh and that helps!

Two microwaves seemed like a necessity at the time, but now we just have the one!
