Hi all. I know I’m making my self crazy. But does anyone have middle back pain on ibrance and fulventral. I had good scans last Friday but I have awful middle back pain this week. My cancer is only in my iliac so I’m not sure why I have this pain. Thanks. Marianne

I, too have this back pain and its scarey! We need to stay positive, because we can't control this, but we can't let this fear control us! Live your life with the joy that surrounds you! Good research will save us all. Continue to BELIEVE. love and hugs to you from Kathy from Syracuse, NY

I am experiencing a lot of lower back pain recently. I assume I have over down it. You could have pulled something. We automatically assume it is our cancer when we can still pull muscles and hurt our backs. See your family doctor for your peace of mind.

I also take Ibrance and suffer from back pain.

It usually comes the third week of the cycle and lasts through three or four days of the off time. That’s when I get the shots. But I believe the pain is one of the side effects that is normal. It did go down after the first three or four months.

How ironic my name is Marianne too, even same spelling!

Yes I had mets to one tiny spot on my spine ,and I had radiation there to be safe. Yes I have middle back pain, especially my lower right ribs. My scans have been great , but when it first started I was convinced my cancer was back. My Dr doesn't seem to want to blame it on medication, but I don't know what other explanation. I do have osteoarthritis which seems to be getting more pronounced, and I do have it in my spine. I get xegeva shots monthly and for the few days after and before I get achy all over in my bones, too. I tried a mattress topper, too. It's these unexplained things that add to our anxiety. As long as it's not cancer we're ok..

Hi Marianne,

I'm not on the same treatment as you, but you mentioned that you had good CT scan results last Friday. Did you have the pain when you had the scan? The fact you had good results would seem to suggest that there is no disease progression, as that is probably what you are concerned about.

If you are still worried that there could be something going on, then I would raise your concerns with your oncologist or oncology nurses. I have found that whenever I have an ache, pain or niggle I will sometimes assume it's the cancer, but oftentimes it's not. I think it's my mind that tricks me into thinking it's the cancer, when in actual fact I may have just pulled a muscle while exercising, walking or doing something else. I hope you feel better soon.

I find the pain can move around to about 5 different consistent places . Frustrating and confusing . And I agree other things can also be the problem not always cancer related but so hard to figure it out .
