Back rib aches

I’m on Ibrance. My 6th month. Seems that every month between day 15 and 20 I get new aches. Yesterday I woke up with severe pain in my left back ribs. Today it’s across the whole upper back. Across the ribs. Painful to breathe deeply. My petscan 2 weeks ago was good - no progression and diminishing tumors. Does anyone else have this sort of reaction?

I get this a lot..different places hurt..I always have pain where my fracture was but other pain that changes all the time..at the moment it’s my lower back..then it’ll be ok for a few days..I suppose it could be side effects from the hormone drugs we take..letrazole has a bad reputation for causing joint pain

Hi Gwennie, I have mets in bones, liver and lungs. I get pain across my ribs at the back, especially if I have been standing for over an hour. A sit down for 10 minutes seems to ease it. If it is too bad and in lower back I take paracetamol. I am on Ibrance/ letrozole and denosumab, calcium. Sick of counting pills and ordering new ones. Yesterday the clinic would not give me my xgeva/denosumab jab because my calcium level was too low, so I have to increase the calcium and try again in 2 weeks. The neutrophils have gone up so I can start palbociclib again after a 2 week gap. Any one else having these issues.? Take care Gwennie, I suppose it is the mets making sure we don't forget them! Fay

I had that problem just once and I couldn’t have the denosumab injection..I was told to double the dose of my calcium supplement..I have the Adcal chewable calcium/Vit D tablets and take 4 daily

Like you I’m sick of pills...I keep all mine in a little wicker basket and the other day I was plodding about in a scruffy dressing gown popping pills..hideous sight to behold..hardly know this new me..ugh

I would suggest adding a vitamin k cap at night with 5k vit D for bones/calcium to rise.

Vitamin K ... never taken that..will maybe try that one..anything that helps cos we can’t stop the meds but maybe help with side effects

Thanks. I don’t usually complain but every time a new pain comes up I think I’m plunging into new territory. I have to remember that we take poison to kill poison. Hugs

Around day 10 or 11 I wake up and hurt all over. Ribs are the worst. This last dosage reaction was so severe I was sent to the ER with heart attack symptoms. Tests say my heart is fine, it was the meds. Sigh

I get some weird soreness (I wouldn't call my aches painful) in my upper back as well as down by my ribcage (where your bra strap is)

I'm trying to take note of my aches & pains so that I can compare & contrast as the months go by...

A severe cramp in my foot similar to those from great sex, but no....

Thanks Sandra..yes I would check it out first..I take a lot of ibuprofen which is an anticoagulant so I’ll be careful

I get similiar pains. It seems to start around Day 14. To me I feel it is more of a tingling pain in my upper back. I am on Ibrance/ Falsodex combo.

Ugh! The side effects are tough on these meds. To me. I think I feel that way bc I was on Tamoxifen for 10 years & just lost my period.

I also seem to be getting more back..shoulder pain.thinking it was my bed ..but its not ..also in my hips . my 8th month on treatments ..metastic breast cancer came back .. right breast in 2016. Long journey ahead.

I'm on Ibrance/ Faslodex! New aches and pains every month. Never know what each morning will bring in the ache department!!!

The aches move around. Very weird!
