Chiropractic Adjustment

Well, I've had an adjustment and discovered 2 things. 1. My back, shoulder, ribs and neck were so out of alignment after a 12 hour car trip that it all was triggering part of my pain. 2. My stomach is so full of gas that it is pushing on my ribs and causing more pain. I'm doing my best to get rid of it, but it's been a worsening issue since I took 1 anti-inflammatory 2 weeks ago. It feels like an ulcer. So mad that I let the Oncologists's Assistant talk me into trying it! I knew better!

Now to get the gas under control and have the last of the pain go.

I knew it was possibly the dewormer making my gas worse. It started with the anti-inflammatory before I started the dewormer, but I'm sure it's a combination. I took a teaspoon of garlic this afternoon and the gas almost instantly disappeared!

Just be careful with adjustment if u have metastatic in your spine. I have fracture and I didnt know due to cancer and the adjustment cause more pain. I thought I was going to end in the hospital. Then i find out that I have the fracture and that's the reason of my horrible pain and the adjustment didn't help ....

So far the cancer hasn't spread past my chest wall. And the last PET Scan 3 months ago actually showed a dramatic decrease in masses. The scan next week will show more, hopefully good news!

I wish you good results from your scan. I will be thinking about you!

That is the reason I have avoided a chiropractor. Everyone says it would help me but I’m so scared of fractures.

So glad you had relief from your adjustment. I know chiropractic works as I went for years prior to mbc.

But if you have some issues acupuncture may be a gentler way to manage pain.

Many pills result in gas. Hope this clears up for you then you will be pain free.

I've written about how I had to wait months for brain scans and results before I could get treatment for a constant headache.

I've finally had treatment from a cranial osteopath. The first session made it quite a lot worse but that gave me hope that she could improve it. The second visit improved it considerably. The relief is immense!

The headache was being caused by a problem with my neck not related to mbc.

Morning Julie,

I am so pleased for you! You were suffering so badly from headaches. There's no reason to continue suffering like that, so it's good you have found an oestopath that has made a difference to how you are feeling. It's also good news that the headaches were unrelated to the cancer. I don't know about you, but if I ever have an ache or pain or something does not feel right I start worrying that the cancer is spreading.

Me too, I think it’s natural to blame either the cancer or meds for anything new, but of course we are still subject to every other condition everyone without mbc is.

I have had problems with my neck and back for quite a while but never had headaches like this before. I thought it was my neck causing them but when the oncologist insisted on a brain scan it worried me, which of course made me tense and made the pain worse. The relief is wonderful!

Yes, I think you're right! We live with this disease day in and day out, that we may at times forget that we are also prone to other ailments. The last time I had a cold I was actually relieved to be going through something normal that other people could relate to if that makes any sense!

I can understand how just the mention of a brain scan would scare you. When I had a full body bone scan last year the doctor said: "the skull is empty." My husband and I started laughing and he told the doctor how he had been telling me that for years! The doctor didn't seem to get our sense of humour! 😂😂

I know exactly what you mean about getting a cold!

My daughter has threatened to get the brain scan report framed because it confirms I have one!! 😁 Jx

That's so funny! I would tell your daughter you should go shopping for photo frames together! Thanks for the laugh! 😆😆

Ibrance cause headaches. Did u take Ibrance?

Julie2233 profile image
Julie2233 in reply toNmartinez15

Yes, I am on ibrance and thanks for the thought, but the head ache is definitely mechanical. When the cranial osteopath manipulates my neck I can feel the tension releasing and the pain dissipating. When she stops it returns but isn’t so severe.

I’ve also had long term issues with both my neck and back, which started long before my cancer journey.

I have asked the osteopath if she can just follow behind me holding my neck but she refused! Apparently she has her own life 😁

I am sorry. Ibrance give a terrible headaches and when I stop them the headaches was gone. Just make sure the Ibrance dont make worse it headaches.

Thank you 😊 I've also noticed that I've got a lot more movement in my neck and I'm not as stiff. I'm so pleased to have found a decent osteopath again

I had the first migraine I've had in 6 months with the last 7 day Ibrance. My arthritis is out of control, my neck felt so much better after my adjustment, but with the arthritis ramping up and every joint or past injury on fire, I was miserable. I'm so over this! Between the thyroid med causing my ears to buzz constantly, the inhibitor making me nauseous and hurting my joints, now the Ibrance making my RA worse and exhausting me and the anti-inflammatory hurting my stomach so badly that after 1 pill and 2 weeks later my stomach is killing me - I'm done!

Not what you're looking for?
