Bone Mets Pain

Hello sisters! For those of us with bone mets I have a question for you. I have been living with extensive bones mets in my ribs, back, pelvis and sternum for over 5 years now. I have had numerous radiation sessions to remove the pain in certain areas. Within the last few weeks I have noticed that the pain, especially in my ribs is widespread rather than localized. The best I can explain it is It feels as if I went to the gym and worked out with weights really hard around my mid section. It hurts to move and breathe without taking pain killers. Any help is appreciated!

I had soreness for several weeks following my palliative radiation treatments. It got better with time and improved over the original pain at about 6 to 9 weeks later.

Sorry to hear about your pain. I have bone pain too. I now have more left hip pain and somehow still walk. Ive only done radiation treatment once last year for 10 treatments. My pain seems to move from place to place. My lower back during the day and left hip when I get up. I Hope to figure out something so I don't need more radiation. I use a Bemer mat and spot twice a day. One of my docs suggested acupuncture recently. Maybe I'll check that out.

Take care!

LeAnn

I have been seeing an Acupuncturist for the last year and can not recommend it enough! Helps so much with the pain, not only in my back (extensive bone mets) but the side effects of the Ibrance/Letrizole which for me is trigger fingers on both hands which are terribly painful most of time. My acupuncturist did her training at a Cancer center in the Northeast and she always does what she calls the "Cancer Points" on my feet. Last scans showed me as Stable. It is not inexpensive, but I have just put it in my budget.

Yes- I can relate with the trigger finger and trigger thumbs - I know it's from the chemo meds- but most MDs will disagree or just not admit to it. Had both my thumbs fixed and now just waiting for my fingers to get bad enough to fix. I too have bone mets but not a lot of pain- I'm 3 years out-

Yes I have it in my spine. Mostly I hurt at night. I know this sounds strong but I have Morphine just 2.ml 24 hrs if needed. Or Tylenol doesn’t upset my stomach. I hope you get relief.

Sorry you have so much pain. Maybe you should get medical marajuana license. I know I will when my pain gets that bad. Will be thinking of you.

Shelley since it hurts to move and breathe l would be concerned about a lung problem, a possible pleural effusion. If your very short of breath that is a concern. Do tell your doc so you can have an Cray or other test if needed. Take care, Mary.
