I feel so bad when I read many posts about good follow up oncology care in various areas. I have had such a good experience with two cancer centers, one was with Dana Farber which I had a second opinion with and because I live in Syracuse, New York I receive treatment and care at Upstate Medical Cancer Center with a fabulous group of physicians! The care and follow through that I receive is second to none. They ate willing to coordinate with Dana Farber if need be (change of meds, etc.). My oncologist is young, enthusiastic, positive, caring and NEVER leaves a stone unturned! All of us deserve nothing less when it comes to the life threatening disease we are dealing with and should accept nothing less! My heart aches for those of us that don't receive that kind of care! I take Ibrance 100 mg., receive Fluexatine injection and Xgeva shot once a month and am doing well, with the exception of some profuse diarrhea on occasion and of course the tiredness that most of us experience. I try to nap every day for at least an hour, but I do understand those of you who need to work and can't do that. It's important to keep a positive attitude and not to listen to anyone telling you about life expectancy! I don't even ask, because no one can tell you that except God Himself! If you can keep going and keep the faith I know we can all do better! If you're not receiving the care you should, then PLEASE look further! You have one life to live, no second chances, so take care to get the BEST no matter what! My best to all of you going forward! There are good things happening with research and we are in a time when we can experience good care! God bless you all! Love. Kathy

Good oncology care
I agree! I have equally caring doctors that I wouldn’t trade for the world! I have told a number of acquaintances after hearing their stories to go get a second opinion and find someone that cares. They deserve much better! There are good doctors and good gtoups out there.
Hi Kathy,
That's how I feel about my care. I go to Rutgers cancer center in Newark, NJ and all doctors are in one building. My doctor is always changing the plan according to my side effects. It's all about comfort she said . I know when I get there Thursday on crutches they will get me a wheel chair and get me to where I need to be. They all wait to see what wig I have on now. I just feel so safe there.Everyone is always trying to get me to go to Sloan Kettering in Ny. I am sometimes in my cancer center 3 times a week. It is 6 miles from my house. Cannot imagine getting into NY 3 times a week.
I have confidence in my team of doctors. And that is very important for us.

You are absolutely right! It's all about being safe and confident in your doctors! I thank God everyday that I have my care 15 minutes away from my home! They are the very best! Thx for your reply! God bless! Kathy
Kathy I feel like you in every word and sentence you wrote. No one can tell you when your last day is but God. We can live thus one life to the fullest. New treatments come out every year and we are getting better treatments. Keep living and be strong, a cure is close. God bless every female and male with mbc.
So glad you are getting such great care. We all should be. I am fortunate also in that my oncologist and his staff are amazing. Very warm and caring and my oncologist is always very optomistic. He spends as much time as needed with me and i love that i can email him with questions and he responds really quickly. We should expect nothing else.
