Ibrance is the only drug in its class as far as I know. I hope others will have better info than I but have you told your oncologist? They should be able to contact Pfizer to get you the drug at low or no cost. I’d also call the American Cancer Society to see if they can help. The social worker affiliated with your doctors hospital might also be able to help. I hope you can stay on the Ibrance and continue to do well!

When I was diagnosed, denovo mets, Ibrance wasn't around yet and I got almost five years from Femara, and now over 9 years from Faslodex. I couldn't tolerate Ibrance. I don't think Ibrance is every prescribed alone, so technically, you've been stable on Ibrance plus another drug and maybe that drug alone would keep you stable. And there are other dual med combos. When you speak with the social worker, ask about resources that are specific to your state--states vary alot in their medical programs. My brother has found a program where he lives (Oregon) that has helped him manage diabetes, for example. I hope you find something that helps you keep those cancer cells under control.

Yes. Speak to your Oncologist or better yet oncology medical social worker. Sometimes the drug company will supply the drug for free or you can find other help. Social worker can help with this. There are a few other drugs in same category which work same way but there are no generics and they are just as costly. It would be much better to stay on drug which has been controlling you I would think. I hope you find a way and continue to do well. Let us know how it works out.

Hope you find something. Here in South Africa Ibrance is still to be approved! my oncologist tells me there are other drugs here which work the same way BUT you have to be on the top medical scheme plans before the schemes will pay and most of us pensioners cannot afford that so opt for the next one down which at least covers everything in hospital. I was on Letrozole for 3 years before it started to fail and, after a brush with both Xeloda 10 months and Navilbine about 3 months, neither of which continued to work for long enough, I have been put on Faslodex. this has only now been approved by my plan level on my medical scheme!! Unfortunately it is all about the money where these schemes are concerned and if the Faslodex doesn't stabilise my mets it is chemo for me which I really can't get my head round.

Good luck with your search and hope you can remain stable meantime

From everything I have read Ibrance will help you if you can’t afford it. Did you get the kit before you started? There’s information in their for people who can’t afford it.

Good luck, praying you get this resolved soon.

Call Pfizer directly. They will help u pay for the drug. There r zero copay cards and also foundations that Assist. U don’t say where u r, but hospitals also have payment plans. Do u belong to any union work plans that may have a prescription plan? I went they this recently and it is very unnerving. If u r eligible for social security they have help available if u qualify. U need to fight for the medicine. It is horrible that a drug is available and it is so costly!!!!! Makes one wonder if all many say r the truth, no cues because of the money made by these giant companies! Very sad! Don’t give up! Spend time on the phone and reac out to all cancer organizations! Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Go to the Ibrance website, ask your cancer center, there are many assistance programs, some people paying nothing for this drug. This face book group has lots of people that have direct experience:

Metastatic BC Ibrance, Kisqali, Verzenio Group (CDK 4/6 Inhibitor)

My very best to you!

Michelle

Same here, call the company. There was a time when my daughter, she pancreatic problems. She had no insurance. I called all companies of her meds and they supplied for free until she was able to get indurance. Good luck, do not give up a drug that works for you.

Call Pfizer direct and ask for the copay assistance program. They are wonderful and hope you can qualify for the program

When I was on Ibrance my portion per month was 2,651.00. No way could i afford that. My husband on the Affordable Care Act, 1,100.00 per month plus 10,000.00 deductible. My Oncologist has an employee just for these purposes. She connected me with a patient advocacy company specifically for Ibrance. They gave me 8,000.00 to pay for my portion of Ibrance. They also ask me how far away my Oncologist was from my house. Since everything I have done is over an hour away they sent me a check for 600.00 for traveling expenses. My Dr bills the patient advocacy place for the 8,000.00. God certainly took care of that situation.

,Before giving up on Ibrance, talk to your oncologist about possible help from Pfizer, any local foundations and from your Pharmacy. I know that CVS has a program. Also check Living Beyond Breast Cancer for a list of organizations that can help.
