Low white blood count
No, but I did get them taking Abraxane IV chemo when I was first diagnosed. It isn't bad, I gave it to myself (I'm nurse, but it's a relatively small, easy shot). The only thing I experienced was a little bone discomfort -- stimulates your marrow to produce wbcs. Did your doctor try reducing the dose of Ibrance first?
My neutrophil count stays right at .5 and I ask for the shot. My Dr says NO every time . I just have to be really careful and limit contact with lots of people. I am at the 125 dose of Ibrance (and also taking Letrozole), and it is working so I don’t want to go down in dosage. So... I am just being really careful.
I asked my onc. nurse, she said they never give it with iBrance.
Also, isn't .5 for neutrophils really low? I seem to recall my nurse saying we were supposed to be at a min of 1.0 to restart. It might be better for you to drop down to 100mg, that's what seems the standard move for most people here who drop really low and don't build that back up. It's not good for your immune system to be in a continuous state of depletion, I think it can lead to other potential problems. Perhaps you should ask your doc about that?
I feel that way too! I stay right st .5 to .6 makes me really nervous but I am lucky enough to be able to retire early so I am home a lot. My dr says the Ibrance is working well so we will continue for now at 125. I am anxious about getting a flu shot as he started out saying I would have to be at 1.0 but now saying I will always be at that .5 to .7 or .8 so getting the flu shot in couple of weeks. I do get labs every other week and all other numbers are in line
I received it when on IV taxol . When I was on Ibrance my oncologist told me they don't give it with the category of drugs Ibrance is in as no research or safety profiLe. I was then switched to verzenio which isn't quite as bad on WBCs..
My oncologist also said I cannot take the shots on Ibrance. Sometimes I have to delay starting by a few days. I am on 125 mg.

I always have to wait 3 weeks to get my neutrophils back to a safe range. My doctor has never mentioned any kind of shot. He said I just have to wait. I was on 125 and now trying 100 but still have the three week wait.
I was on Ibrance 125mg. for 3 weeks and my ANC dropped so doc took me off for two weeks until my count raised. Will start on I brance 100 mg. on Monday with weekly lab work. I have had neupogen shots and they are (for me) were so painful, not the shot itself but the after effects which felt like the worse case of flu ever!!!!So the doctor decided that it would be better if I could raise my WBCs on my own which I did. In 2 weeks it went from 0.3 to 1.
Hi,
My onc said the neupogen shots do not work with ibrance because if you keep taking ibrance it will keep lowering your WBCs. He said that he just stops the ibrance and the WBCs will come up on their own. My whites used to drop, but the last 2 cycles it has been my reds that drop instead.

I am Also surprised that your doctor is not lowered to the 100 mg which most breast cancer patients in the situation take
