Anyone had a T1 pathological fracture? Would you mind sharing your experience? I’ve had pathological fractures of both my femurs in 2013. Had surgery to stabilize and radiation.

I have a fracture in T6 I believe. It showed up in my December scan. Prior to that I’ve had lots of radiation and chemo. I think radiation makes the bones brittle. I get exgeva injections monthly which is a bone strengthner.

Thanks. I also get Xgeva injections. I haven’t had luck with radiation reducing bone pain but I know it works well for some people. I’m waiting to do an MRI now to see next steps

Dear lmcnally l have a T3 fracture, lots of bone mets. Palliative radiation did reduce my pain from being severe and disabling at times to being mostly tolerable. I am sorry you fad the femoral fractures (glad you survived that as well as yo did). For me femoral/hip fractures and dislocation are my biggest fears. I had a hip replacement a year before my mets diagnosis (lm sure the mets was already present then). Thanks for sharing. I wish you wellness, Mary.

Thanks for your response Mary! I should have done an update on this post. They actually decided the fracture has healed and it was ok. I wasn’t having pain in the area which was a relief. My low back and hips are still the most painful areas I deal with but I have lots of modalities that help me. The nice thing with the femeral rods is they really support the hips well. Wishing you continued pain relief and the best possible health. Lindsay
