Week off
On my last day of Ibrance I get my xgeva and faslodex. After a couple days I feel better. Also ibrance seems to build up in my body and I get a bit more tired and naseaus. So for 5 days I feel better.
Yes, my week off is usually the worst week, though mine is severe GIT issues.
Hey Selmac, diarrhea wasn't the problem I had with ibrance, though with it I go more often than I used to. I was having severe GIT pain, the doctor couldn't say what caused it. But I later suspected it was duodenal ulcer I got from too much pain, and then ibrance made it worse. It got to a point I told my family members and the doctor I didn't want to take any meds anymore, cos I was dying from the pain. Then I got prescription for sucralfate and within 3 days the pain was calm, though not completely gone but 97% better. So I got back on the chemo meds again, together with the ulcer meds.
Thanks and sorry for my lengthy comment
I didn't think it was lengthy. That's why we'e on here I think. Glad you got your pain under control.
Hi I am new to this site. I am reading responses about Ibrance. Everyone mentions Shots. What shots?????
Hi Marianne
I experience that exact same thing. The last two days of Ibrance I start to lose steam and then the first 5 days of my off week, I am exhausted and foggy headed which I assume is because I’m so tired. Then @ day 6 I have a sudden burst of energy that takes me back onto the Ibrance. I’d gotten used to it.
I did Ibrance/femara for 19 months but at my last one visit last week, my doc told me to stop taking the femara for two weeks and start on exemestane instead. Turns out that all of the pains in my hands, feet, swelling all over and ultimately my entire legs were killing me. I was afraid it was a vascular thing they hurt so bad. Turns out these are all side effects of the femara/Letrozole.
So now my legs feel better and I’m going backwards thru the side effects of the past 19 months. Who knew??
So I am praying that the new drug works as well with the tumors and doesn’t have the side effects.
Sometimes yes and sometimes no. I'm starting round 35 tomorrow and this week off was good for me.
I also am really really tired that week off.
I also am more tired the week off of ibrance...I was diagnosed with MBC to my bones in Jan 2017.
