Please help I need to know about gamzar chemotherapy

Hi I would like to hear if anyone is on gamzar I just started ,and want find out if anyone is on

I was on Gemzar for all of 2013 for MBC. In addition I was also receiving Taxotere and took the oral chemo, Xeloda. I don't know what your question or concerns are so I don't know how else to respond.

I've not been on Gemzar myself, but a woman in my local mbc support group was on it when I joined the group and I do remember that she found it one of the easier chemo drugs to be on. She got over a year from it, about the longest she got from any one med.

I just started on Gamzar myself. My first infusion was this past week. I had been feeling okay prior to starting it but my tumor marker had been rising for eight months on femara and then faslodex (both with Ibrance). The day of my first infusion, it seemed like the gamzar wiped me out. I went home and slept all afternoon, plus I had a headache and I felt a mild burning sensation in my lungs. The headache and lung discomfort went away by the end of that first day, although I had some mild stomach upset into the second day. I'm feeling fine since then. I'm scheduled to have an infusion every two weeks. My oncologist says this is a pretty mild chemo. I work full time and he says I should be able to continue working without any problems while I'm on this.
