Hi, my name is Lou. I had a twin sister who died 3 yrs ago with inflammatory breast cancer. Please remember folks not all cancers begin with a lump.

Welcome, lourn . You're right, more people need to know that lumps are not the only sign of breast cancer (did you see that lemon image that was going around on Facebook a while back?)

Hi Lou, I am so sorry to hear about your twin sister. I was diagnosed with IBC, also, and invasive ductal in 2005 and had never heard of IBC before then. Fortunately my cancer team were able to stop the progression of the IBC with chemo, surgery and radiation. However, the invasive ductal came back a few years later and I have been in treatment ever since. I feel I know I am one of the lucky ones! It's been hard to meet and develop close friendships and support systems with other IBCer's and then watch them struggle and finally pass away. I can empathize with the pain you must feel loosing your sister. If you ever want to talk, let me know.

Oh, Lou, I can only imagine what it is like to lose a twin sister! I am so deeply sorry! I lost my younger brother at 17 in a traffic accident and that was very painful. My other brother and I speak of him often. It's been almost 50 years since he died--siblings are not forgotten.

I have lobular mbc and it appeared as a thickening in my breast. It can be sneaky, too.

True; I didn't have any noticeable symptoms; however, when I look back I did have some. Sorry about your loss of twin. I'm on Tamoxifen now to try and prevent cancer from spreading to other breast!
