Went to Primary Physician after I found huge lump in right breast

Waited 8 Weeks for Mammogram, MRI and Ultrasound

I found out today

Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Breast Cancer grade 3 Stage 2

It’s Estrogen and Progesterone negative waiting on FISH TEST about HER Status.

Nottingham Score 3

2 Lymph Nodes Biopsy reported No Tumor

But Lymph nodes in the right axilla with thickened cortex and partial loss of the fatty hilum is noted.

My pathology below

What does it mean?

To add insult to injury, my husband was diagnosed in June 2022 with Stage 4 Advanced Metastatic Prostate Cancer, his psa is rising, just a battle…

Now Me with Breast Cancer

Unbelievable, I can’t believe this is Our Life.

- Invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 3 (of 3), high combined histologic grade [tubules: 3/3, nuclear pleomorphism: 3/3, mitotic activity: 2/3; Nottingham score: 8/9].

Hi Jam6252005, I’m so sorry you have received this diagnosis. At the moment you don’t have all the information and the waiting is the most difficult. I too had a score of 8/9 with mitosis activity as a 2. That is how fast the cancer spreads. We all jump at the worst possible outcome, but try not too. I was diagnosed last January 2023 with Er and Pr positive and a 2+ on IHC negative on ish and it was in 2 lymph nodes. Which isn’t ideal, but I have been prescribed Abemaciclib for 2 years which is a targeted therapy only recently prescribed in the adjuvant setting. What I’m trying to say is treatments are developing and improving all the time. Try not to panic. Sending a virtual hug.

dear JaM6252005 , I don’t know the technicalities as I am only the mother of a breast cancer survivor who joins here to be able to help her deal better with treatment and recovery. But I agree with Multigravida1956 that regardless of the stage, please don’t panic. I’ve heard of women in stage 4 who have recovered completely. Sending you a lot of energy and love to deal with what you are going through.

Hello I just wanted you to know to hang in there and take it one step at a time sometimes things may sound really bad but they may not be as bad as they seem

I'm so sorry that you and your husband are having to deal with cancer! But glad you found us! My BC story is alot different than yours, but I'm a long timer with metastatic ("terminal") breast cancer, diagnosed 3/1/2004. My main coping tool has been learning all I can about BC and MBC--reading. attending conferences. I've met alot of women with BC and one thing that's true is that our cancer journeys are each unique to us. And more and more of us are living longer and longer. If you are in the US, the top cancer centers are the Comprehensive Cancer Centers (listed on the website of the National Cancer Institute.) They are mostly medical school connected and have very specialized oncologists. Seeeing a BC specialist onc at least for a second opinion can be really helpful.
