Hello All: I had breast cancer surgery in 2017 with no radiation or chemo needed, the reasons I was given was my age and the cancer was confined to a small area. I went to a consultation with an oncologist and he prescribed Prolia injections. Now I've been reading horror stories about Prolia. Has anyone been prescribed Prolia injections after breast cancer surgery?

Hi, I'm curious have you been taking an aromatase inhibitor that they prescribed prolia?
Prolia is indicated for osteoporosis. I don't know why he ordered it for you it doesn't seem like you should have osteoporosis at age 27! I would get a second opinion for sure and keep on doing your own research.
Promise is the same med as xgeva (I take this for stage IV metastatic breast cancer to decrease the chance of fracture from the cancer)
Cheval is the same med but it is a higher dose.
Some docs are financially rewarded for ordering certain meds.
Hopefully I'm not misunderstanding your story - I would be so angry at this doctor if I were you.
I an so sorry!
I've been on Prolia now for almost 2 years and I haven't had any side effects or issues. There is a rare incidence of jaw necrosis, but the incidence is extremely low. Would suggest consulting with a knowledgeable endocrinologist who specializes in osteoporosis who has alot of experience with Prolia and other relevant medications. Good luck.
