Hello! I am 34yrs old and was dx with Stage 1 HER2 triple positive breast cancer October 2018. I have done chemo and had a lumpectomy. I am getting a consultation regarding radiation but my oncologist put me on Tamoxifen. Can anyone give me some insight or opinion on what to expect? I am a little nervous and skeptical on taking it.

Tamoxifen
I've been on it since Oct. 2018 and haven't had any issues from it. The only thing that I noticed was that my stool was slightly looser but wasn't a problem.
Hi there
I am 44 and In 2017 had invasive ductal carcinoma and had chemo, single mastectomy and radiation. I just had reconstruction surgery in January. I am on tamoxifen. I have been on it for about a year. I gained some weight but besides that, it hasn’t been a problem.
Hi, Shani!
My sister was on tamoxifen for a couple of years. Her most difficult side effect was joint pain. Most typical regimen, I believe, is a 5-year course following chemo.
I would definitely follow your doc’s recommendation. Due to a “slip through the cracks” I was not treated with tamoxifen following my BC. Seventeen years later, it snuck into my spine. Don’t take any chances.
God bless you! XO Linda
I took Tamoxifen for five years . I had no side effects except for occasional night sweats. Everybody responds differently. It's better to try it
You're very welcome
