Please can anyone in the USA tell me what strength Tamoxifen you are on please and for how long? My Oncologist in the UK has said that your strengths are not as high as we are 'advised' to take here and has suggested that I take it according to USA advice...Thanks x

I'm in the US and on 20 mg/day for 5 years.

Thank you for that. That is what the oncologist has prescribed for me, but he said I could take one every other day if the side effects are too bad, as it was a higher dose than they prescribe in the US. Perhaps it was because I was considering forgetting them all together, but thanks again x

Here in the US. I took 20 mg/day for 5 years. I know of several people who were reduced to 10mg/day in order to better deal with the side effects they were experiencing,

Same re some people on 10mg/day, my oncologist has told me I'm not a good candidate for the lower dose based on how "mild" my side effects are, relatively, at least for now.

Thats good, I'll keep my fingers crossed that I find it mild, as the Anastrazole has left me with osteoperosis and I've been having terrible back and knee pain also the hot flushes back in the menopause 😏

I am also in US and take 20 mg/day for 5 years. Have been on it for a year and half now. I do get the night sweats and fatigue but not bad enough yet. I like the idea of 10 mg and will discuss with oncologist. The night sweats contribute to disruptive sleep which may be part of the fatigue. My tumor was very small. Had lumpectomy and radio with no problems and no lymph node involvement. Two mammograms since are clear. Wishing you the very best in all this.

Yes my tumour was small too, and I had radiotherapy, but the disruptive sleep, still continues ! I have now had one mammogram, that was a lump, but not cancer, so eventually clear, thanks
