Regarding breast reconstruction and nipple replacement. Has anyone had the 3-D tattoo instead of going through surgery with the nipple replacement? If so what’s your experience and how do you feel about the 3-D tattoo? If you had it to do over again which one would you choose? Thank you in advance for any comments and/ or information.

I had my nipples and areolas surgically replaced and then tattooed, but, annoyingly (and expensively!) I've had to have them re-pigmented twice due to color fading. In the past I've had my tattoos done in my plastic surgeon's office at MSK. This time I'm going to try the following organization to have my tattoos refreshed by Marnie Rustemeyer who conducts donation only days on occasion (Yay!). Maybe contact them? They may be able to answer some of your questions? Medi Ink, info@mediinkllc.com, 917-753-6225, bit.ly/MediInkLLC

So health insurance does not cover 3-D tattooing?

Both times it fell under my deductible so I ended up spending approximately $600. :(

Hi,

After 8 years I decided to have 3D tattooing on my reconstructed breast. I could not be happier. Eight years ago I just wanted everything to be over. Recently an opportunity presented itself for the tattoo. I decided to go for it and I am very grateful.

Good luck.
