Hello warriors! I'm wondering if anyone has had stabbing sharp pains on you're breast after finishing radiation treatments. I've still haven't had any surgery on my breast. They say I'm in remmision. Also still no biopsy for the lesions seen on my vertebrae .

Yes I have an open wound which is not healing after radiation. Possibly the skin is damaged and inflamed. Have you tried ibuprofen and ice packs. If that works, it probably inflammation. I had to be hospitalized for iv antibiotics. Then the infection was completely healed with oral antibiotics

Hi Bubba, I had a lumpectomy followed by IMRT and I did sometimes get stabbing pains in the area of the breast radiated. My radio oncologist said this was quite normal and probably due to the changes in the tissues (however, I had also had surgery so a bit different to your situation) but the pains have stopped now (2 months on) except for occasional twinges in my nipple which got quite badly burnt and is taking the longest to recover.

It's probably best to check with your health team especially about the possibility of surgery and the lesions on your vertebrae - don't forget, you're entitled to information about your body!

Good luck and I hope you feel better.
