Re you sure that you are metastatic and not invasive? Is there any signs of cancer other than the breasts or lymph nodes Without knowing much it sounds like you have invasive breast cancer with a rather large tumor This type of treatment is more in tune with some one who is not stage IV. I will try and get someone who has had a similar diagnosis to reply to your post.

In the interim hang in there While chemoo can be no picnic it usually is quite doable remember we are all here to support you

Thanks for a quick reply. Yes the tumour is large and also reached vertibra 4 so surgery was not possible. After 4th chemo have a pt scan on 22feb and then it will be decided if surgery is possible.

I have a cousin with a similar diagnosis. Evvy was stage 2/3. The tumor was golf-ball sized and after just 1 round of chemo she couldn't feel it. I believe she had 6 rounds of chemo in all. Evvy is triple negative, so this is particularly sensitive to chemo. She had a lumpectomy afterwards, radiation and is now 5 years cancer-free. The best of luck to you, Shoba.

Welcome to our site. I hope the chemo will shrink the tumor to allow for surgery if your medical team thinks that's best. One piece of advice: Remember to include in your questions to the doctor the role radiation therapy might play. It is often an important tool along with chemo and surgery. Good luck and check back in with us as you proceed and need support or guidance.
