NY Times Faces of Breast Cancer

I think this might have been the first piece I ever had published about being diagnosed with breast cancer. In a way, I publicly "outed" myself by sending this to the NY Times's "Faces of Breast Cancer" initiative in October of 2013. When I've read the poem at the end, "One in Eight," at open mics, it's often met by gasps.
