Tested 1.37 positive for hsv-2 herpes but no sores or bumps. Can this be a false positive? I have been experiencing constant vaginal burning for 2 months. Went to the Gyno and he said there wasn’t anything wrong he can see. Said I had a uti and gave me antibiotics. The burning started right in the middle of rough unprotected sex which I stopped cause it hurt so bad. It was a big mistake. I had recently got cheated on by my ex and wanted to forget him by sleeping with new people horrible mistake and now I think I ruined my life. Does anybody have experiences with a low positive result. I plan on getting tested again. I just want to know how accurate blood test for herpes are.

In the UK we do not usually take blood tests for herpes simplex routinely. You haven't said what the reference range is for the HSV 2 sample in that lab, but probably any antibody positive result shows previous exposure. Lots of useful info here : herpes.org.uk/
by the age of 50 nearly half of the UK population have blood test changes that show exposure to the HSV virus
Hiya
I know the feeling. I am currently in councelling for an unpleasant sexual incident in 2017. I felt unwell afterwards. Went to Gum clinic and they found no issue. Nothing for two years then pain everywhere downy here and I had a boil. Panic set in went back to gum, they say I'm OK. Went to GP who thinks I'm OK. I know something is wrong.
I ordered a online blood test. My index came back 0.5 and negative but I am doing another one this week with another company. I'm not sure if I are and if you were meant to fast before on my last one. Anyway, you are right to question results. I have read some papers and low index positive results can be incorrect up to 50 paecent of the time I believe. X
I don't want to leave the house and struggle to look in the mirror I feel so worthless and dirty.
You should consider counselling around this incident . Even if you had blood test changes, you wouldn't be able to say they dated from the time of that incident . Even if you could, would that help your emotional state ? Its difficult , but perhaps trying to discuss the emotions that you feel about what happened would be of greater benefit to you .
