It not something he would consider at 23
Really ? This has high failure rates in real life studies
Hi Kirsty,
I presume you are in or near the same age group as your partner so I would not recommend natural family planning as a solution. There is a small failure rate even with perfect pill use.
The most reliable types of contraception are long acting ones that are not user dependent. So coils ( IUD or Mirena IUS , Or the newer Jaydess 3 year one ) implant ( Nexplanon) injection ( depo provera ). All depends on your medical history and personal choice. In your age group in the UK sterilization would not be performed either for you or your partner ( as peoples situation changes - no matter what they think sometimes ) So only reversible contraception choices would be considered. All are free under the NHS. I would attend a reproductive health service for a chat. And please check here : sexwise.fpa.org.uk/contrace...
Sterilisation is not performed in the UK for men or women in this age group under the NHS.
Nowhard you live in another country. In the UK sterilisation for anyone under the age of 30 is rarely performed , because of other effective contraceptive choices , and the fact peoples lives change ( divorce, death of a child etc ) and that reversal of sterilisation is not funded under the NHS here. This lady is in her early twenties and I think she would find it almost impossible to find a gynaecologist that would sterilise her in this age group .
Yes of course and I am pleased it worked for you. However statistics show it has a high failure rate as the majority of people do not do it properly, and this lady is in her peak fertility years.
I think you will find they have. Contraceptive choices for women have come a long way since then. There is far more partner change than before which is another factor.
