I've been researching online as I want to start using a form of contraception as I'm sexually active but also to help deal with Dysmenorrhea; although I suffer from Migraines with aura. My ideal contraception would be the patch as I'd only have to remember to change it every week and it helps with my periods. But I found out it can increase the risk of a stroke. I very rarely get them, probably twice a year at the most and I tend to get them from stress and lack of sleep so would this still be a big deal when using the patch?

Migraine with aura is a category 4 for oestrogens , meaning the risks outweigh the benefits , and therefore the combined pill, patch and vaginal ring would be contraindicated. A progestogen coil may be ideal for you - Mirena/Kyleena/Jaydess
