Urge to pull/twist my ankle every night as I try to fall asleep

Hello,

I’m a 43 year old male. Over the past year or so as I try to fall asleep I have the urge to constantly twist/pull/crack my right ankle. It’s got a lot worse in the last few months or so.

I will tell you that as a kid I use to play a lot of sports and turned the ankle often. But I’d wrap it up and just keep playing.

I don’t know if this plays into my current problems but I feel it may.

It has now got to the point where I dread going to bed at night because I know I’m going to go through hell again for a few hours until I eventually fall asleep.

Has this ever happen to anyone here and is their any relief? I was told to try ibuprofen...

But that was a joke and it didn’t help at all.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mike
