Was just wondering how the letter went you sent off to the production and BBC of the above programme. Hope you got lots of people who put their name to your letter, so they could see that many people were upset by how the programme was seen.
I also hope you get a response back from them, and i hope its an apology.
I signed it, too. Probably too soon for a response from them, and one is certainly wrranted, since they mention RLS in the description of the "woman who is too busy to sleep", but never mentio it in her video, and only work on changing her bed time, which would do nothing for her RLS. VEry frustrating, to say the least. Also, would like to know why the BBC blocks all people outside of the UK, so that videos cannot be viewed, etc. I know we, from the US, could not view it, and one woman from Australia could not view it, as well as one from Canada. Even if you try and oin their web site you cannot view them.
As of noon Friday the letter attracted 24 signatures, excluding my own. I sent the letter on Friday afternoon and copied the production company. I would not expect a response for about ten working days i.e. starting tomorrow. I will keep you apprised of any developments.
Thanks all
Daragh
Its always the same, i was hoping for more than 24 people who would put their name to the letter. As always numbers count when trying to help ourselves with this condtion, if we want to get more help from the media we need to be proactive....otherwise nothing gets done, and its no use just moaning and groaning about RLS, we need to do more for ourselves, the more the media and doctors know how many suffer, the better for us.
Yep, me too, very disappointed, but not as disappointed as I would have been a few years ago, since being active on various forums and it is always the same - lack of response with things like this. I cannot understand it, it takes a few seconds to give this support, in this instance, by providing your name and town. What is the matter with people? Perhaps they feel it will do not good, well it will not, if no one participates. So, a disapointed but unfortunately not at all surprised, Kaarina.
Daragh sent in an excellent letter and what support did he get from us lot? 24 names.
Daragh, keep up your good work and try not to get too despondent.
