Has anyone used Neupro patch? Any side effects? This is my second week and have headaches and blood pressure changes.

Still on Neupro, have RLS symptoms during day & night. No more headaches, they might have been from high blood pressure.

Feelings in legs & arms driving me "crazy" and patch does not always stay on, Also found out that Ins. will not pay in 2013.

Hi :)

I know everyone's different and react different with the meds but when i had Neupro patch it was ok for the first couple weeks then all hell broke out made my RLS 100 times worst i didn't sleep for 5 nights solid and 6days of pure hell of not being able to sit still for even 5 mins the whole of that time ,

Having said that there's plenty that say's it works for them and to work through the yukky feelings not heard of anyone with what your feeling though ,

hope they do work for you and what your feeling is a passing thing

:)

I am hesitant to keep using Neupro, the headaches are getting worse and my blood pressure is very high. The literature says to reduce the dose gradually, but I only have 3 mg.

Since it is the holiday weekend, I doubt if I can reach my doctor.

But, I don't know if the Neupro is the reason for the headaches & high pressure.

I just started neupro yesterday. I have had a couple months of hell, so don't think (?) it could be worse. My blood pressure was high for the last week before going on it. It went down, mysteriously, 2 days ago. Last night is the first night I have slept through in so very long. Neupro is suppossed to take a few days to work so I don't know why I slept last night, but it was great. What a pleasure to sleep!

When i used the Neupro Patch it worked straight away, its not really a med, that has to build up in your system to work.

I was only on just 2 weeks went from 1mg to 2 mg and RLS went off the wall i stopped straight away took 2 more days get out my system fully not sure what you should do ,

i'm sure Nightdancer will be able to help you on that one more not good your BP if going high like that that'd be my main worry ,

is there no help line you can phone and ask ?

How do you know your b/p is high....?? do you have a home machine which tests it, or has your doctor checked it... I used the patch and had some bad headaches but they went after a week or two...

Hello. I started patches in 08-9-12. I am up to 8 mg patch. I have had some issues, but I deal with it day to day. I am able to handle Neupro, because I realize I am better off than I was a year ago. I have experience headaches, insomnia, & constipation. Yet overall the patch has made me stronger, I do exercise 6 days a week. I pray everyday all day long. Listing the things I am grateful for such as being ale to walk, dress, and bath myself, because of the patch and other drugs prescribed to me. Keep a log and discuss with your Dr. Our DNA is different and will react differently to drugs. Pay attention to what your body is telling you! Be kind & safe.

I use Neupro Patch for Parkinsons, I can say it has improved my condition, made me have more energy. However, I suppose I could feel ashamed at saying this if I was not so broad minded, but I do get very strange sexual thoughts.

besides severe muscle pains. but then if you discuss with the Dr all they want to do is give you more medication that causes more side effects, eventually it becomes a vicious circle

Been using the 3mg patch for 6 months now, having been on Ropinirole previously, and the difference is amazing with no side effects. Initially the symptoms did worsen for a few days, but I suggest you stick with it. Because it is a slow-release pharma, it suppresses the yips throughout the day. Odd nights it isn't totally effective, but my doc prescribes me Gabaptentin and sleeping tablets as a back-up. I hope you find a solution that suits you - maybe get your GP to arrange a neurologist's appointment where a range of different pharmas can be discussed.

Hi I used Neupro patch up to 2m.g. for restless legs It was wonderful for approx 3 months then I had a really bad allergy caused by the patches. The whole of my upper torso was inflamed and itching and in the end became badly infected. I have had to come off them gradually and only now is my skin starting to get back to normal although it is still very blotchy and scabby. I am on Temazapam at the moment which has proved marvellous but I don't think I can stay on them more than 2 weeks so I don't know what else I can have for the terrible condition of RLS. I hope the Patches prove good for you though but do watch out for any signs of skin irritation.

speaking of headaches, I found out the last couple of days that there are sulfites in the US version of the Neupro patch, but I have not heard that it is in the UK patch. People who are sensitive or allergic to sulfites should check this out, because that can cause headaches, and people with asthma especially have to look out. Like I sadi I am not sure about the UK version of the patch, but I know the US one had to add preservatives, so that it did not have to refrigerated on this side`of the pond. have not had time to research the others yet. Not sure of sulfites are used in the pill forms, like Ropinerole and Mirapexin. Will be looking for that today. :)
