does anyone have any problems with side effects of mirapexin?

This sounds laughable but I have been taking the medication for about 5 years and have become an online gambler. I am in my late 50's and have never had any interest in this sort of entertainment.. I am embarrassed to go to my doctor but even more concerned that he might change my medication.

i think that it does cause some compulsive behavior problems, like eating, shopping and gambling, eatings mine, think you will either have to try to control it yourself, or maybe change meds

thank you for taking the time to reply. I have made an appointment to see the doctor next week but I dread to think what i will do if he takes me off the medication

There are many other medications. Google The Mayo Clinic algorithm for restless legs. Print it out and take it to your doc for discussion

It is NOT laughable. I have a woman in one of my groups that gambled away everything she had including her house. the drug company that mkes this drug has settled several lawsuits over tgis very subject. To get info all you ahve to do is google "Mirapex lawsuits". Scary how may things pop up for that, and people have won a lot of cases.

hi, i found that i to started to play a lot of online poker, even becoming a little obsessive about it, playing through the night when my rls was realy bad, it started to cause argument with the mrs, not about the money, because fortunatly im a pretty good poker player and won more than i lost, but more about the time it was taking up,and the fact that she never got a look in on the comp, because i was always in a torny or waiting for one to start.so i went out and bought myself a laptop to continue in peace lol, that didnt go down well either. after a while i realizes it was starting to get out of control,it was then my wife read the side effects on the mirapexin, and there it was in black and white,so i made a concious disision to stop, i emptied all the money in my poker accounts, closed them, then deleted them from my comps, touch wood it hasnt bothered me and ive not gambled for 3 months now, its just like a bad habbit realy, you have to remove the temptation, and find something to replace it, but nothing that involves any gambling at all, i even stopped playing the lottery, my wife still does tho, lol, hope this helps and good luck..

Thank you. Like your wife, my husband is increasingly annoyed at the amount of time I've been spending. It's not even about the money because win or lose I just keep playing.

I spoke to someone at gamcare yesterday and they gave me a web address for a filter to put onto my computer and we've done that. i feel a big relief already.

I just wanted to know how common this side effect was - i did read the side effects before starting but I never in a million years dreamed that I would be affected as I have always been a person with a lot of will-power and determination. I don't even drink!

Good luck to you too
