I often have these terrible crawling sensations in my left leg at night, & I can`t resist moving it. I`m kept awake at night & it`s driving me crazy. I tied magnesium supplements, but they didn`t help. Has anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get relief without taking heavy medication?

any suggestions about RLS at night?
Unfortunately, if you are suffering every night from RLS and you a getting sleep deprived then you will find that only prescription medication will help.
Not many people find a natural supplement that helps or Vitamins.
Im with Elisse on this, natural remedys dont do a thing for me, so medication is the only thing that helps me
Only meds helped me.
Manganese sorts it out for me every time. Try having it at night. RLS is linked to low dopamine /low iron - iron increases dopamine, manganese plays a role in this. You could try iron as well in morning and manganese at night. I would have RLS every night if i didnt use manganese.
Do you mean manganese or magnesium? I've heard of (and tried) magnesium before, but not manganese. Thanks!
Never take iron without having it tested first. I cannot emphasize that enough. It may not even be your problem. In reagards to RLS, you need to make sure your doctor orders a Ferritin level, how your body stores iron. A regular iron serum test will not show what information you need for RLS. Your Ferritin level should be at least 50, but they are saying closer to 70 now. It takes months to bring a ferritin level up by iron supplements, so you would need to treat the RLS while you are doing iron therapy, IF you need it. Iron overlad is VERY dangerous, and one just cannot take iron casually.
And, even if you bring your numbers up, this helps only about 20% of people with RLS. But, we all should have a Ferritin level taken, and more than once. On any given day, the results can be different, so it is important to create a baseline for it.
