I have to pay for this very expensive treatment and am not happy that approx 15/20% of the patches have come loose after normal showering/ bathing

Anyone having trouble with the Neupro patch coming loose ?
hi i had the same problem when i used them, i changed them after my bath, but i used to let my skin completely dry before putting the patch on, then when i did put it on i would keep the palm of my hand over it for a little while, seems as if the warmth of your hand helps it to stick, also try not to put it where clothes rub on it, did you will still have a few problems with it, its one of the biggest complaints about it

Hi since starting on the neupro patch I have found this problem no matter what I did it came off so now I have to buy plasters and stick one over to help keep it on and it seems to work I have not had RLS for weeks
I am using the patch, and they seem to stick to me fine...sometimes if i havent held my hand hard enough over it, the edges might not stick...I have no problem when bathing or showering..
Yes my patch is always dropping off, even though I press it down, usually if I put it on the upper arms it does it quickly It is difficult for clothing not to rub also.
one more unfortunate thing is being male and hairy is having to shave an area to find a place. After a while you look like a chequer board.
fun and frolics!
soooo funny, yorkshire humour is great
If it moves and it shouldn't -- DUCT TAPE!
I suppose surgical tape might work too, but I use a strip of it and it helps tremendously. All the other advice here is good too - on dry skin after showering and especially holding it for a bit with a warm hand - all help but I still had problems w/them being rubbed off.
Many thanks for all your replies. It's obviously a problem. I'll get ( or get my pharmacist) to contact the suppliers/manufacturers and see what they have to say. Will let you know if I get any response.
dont hold your breathe, they didnt reply to my pharmacist !!!
Apparently the patches are quite expensive, and I believe they are shortly to be made legal in the USA. Makes one wonder if the pharmaceutical company that makes it have realised they can make so much more money by putting half the amount of adhesive on the patch.
Perhaps I am just one big Cynic!
They are beiing used in the USA now, since July. Ooooh, yes, i think a itsy bit cynical...lol.
The adhesive has to be strong enough to adhere to the skin otherwise you wont get the proper amount of the drug go through your skin and a bad night will be in store for you.
It is weird how so many have a problem with the adhesive, Probably getting in touch with the manufacturer directly your self might help get you an answer.
My method is to take them out of the fridge at least 10 mins before applying them so the adhesive works better, apply to the skin and to make it stick do a circular movement with my finger. I always put mine on after a shower and secure it with 2 plasters. For me, the best ones in terms of not causing skin irritation are Sainsbury's own brand sensitive plasters. I then use talc afterwards as they don't stick well if there has been any talc used anywhere!
Hope that helps!
No problem as long as you use heat from your hand to secure well. FYI: Go to website of the patch and get discount card for this product. I save $50 per month. I pay $10 total.
