Dextroamphetamine as a treatment option?

I found a reddit post mentioning this drug as being a very effective treatment. I couldn't find much else about this anywhere else however. I was wondering if anyone else here knows about this?

The gist of it is that OP found that his ADHD medication was providing great relief for his RLS as well.

It is not known to help RLS however treating ADHD can help RLS as it did in the reddit article.

I find your post very interesting in that although my prescribed low-dose methadone regimen works well to afford me 8 hours of sound sleep, I have great difficulty getting up in the morning. If I lower my dose, I get strong bleed-through RLS symptoms that prevent me from getting enough sleep.

But as difficult as it was in getting the methadone prescribed, I imagine that getting it switched to dextroamphetamine would be beyond the pale - well nigh impossible.

But thanks for the idea.

I've read of others (2 or 3 from memory) who have had relief from RLS with ADHD stimulant meds. There's a correlation between ADHD and RLS. At the same time, I wouldn't be rushing out to get stimulant meds with the hope they improve RLS. Whatsmore they can cause insomnia, even when taken in the morning and many ADHDers who take stimulants also need to take sedative meds to help with sleep.
