Hi, I have pain and on gabapentin, co codamol, I have neuralgia and not RLS and I have spoken about this in this forum. The issue I want to talk about is the use of cannabis for pain relief. My doctor will not prescribe opiates and I understand this. I found a company c in the UK. I have had an appointment with a doctor from this company and have been given a prescription for cannabi 10mg TCH and 10Mg CBD in an oil at £175 for a months supply. Does anyone have any experience of this this. It is legal with a prescription since 2018 in the uk and you get a card saying you are a registered user and have a prescription. I have not yet decided to pay yet and get the presciption for a few reasons. My main concern is driving and effect on work. I wanted to see if any of you have used this and get your experience. Cannabis , TCH, and CND research is inconclusive for pain relief and the NHS won't fund it due to lack of evidence. That is what I know so far.

I use it for MS pain. It is brilliant. It stops the most severe nerve pain (trigeminal/Occipital neuralgia). I take 0.3ml at night if I am experiencing pain. It knocks me out & reduces the nerve pain significantly.I only ever drive if I feel completely fit and healthy. So if I'm tired from RLS lack of sleep- I would never drive.

The psychoactive effect only happens around 2 hours after you take the oil. It's worn off by next day. So it did not affect driving ability. Obviously if you take it throughout the day- you will need to monitor how it affects you. If you take small doses of 0.1ml - you won't notice any psychoactive effects. But it might make you sleepy.

Everyone responds differently.

thanks

dose they suggest is 2,5mg/ml of THC and CBD going to 10mg/ml - a 1:1 mix - what do you take?

My cannabis oil was all 20% THC. Althea Champlain Oil. But there are lots of different formulations and they try to give you something that is specific to your pain/illness.

yest the cbd is to offset the drunk effect so to speak as for pain relief - worried about interactions with other meds and if I do use it I will use 2.5 not 10 for a few days and monitor effects carefully

I took Cannaray CBD oil working up to the maximum recommended amount and carried on for nearly a year just in case it was having some effect however small.

After that I stopped dead and I never noticed any difference at all. Maybe some people have had some success but for me it was a waste of time and money. I take cocodamol (8-500) out of desperation sometimes but i don't find they have a big effect

I hope you have success

I suggest co codamol 30 codeine and paracetemol 500 - the stuff you take is sold in pharmacies in uk - the 30/500 is prescription and I can take 240 codeine and it helps headaches and pain eg after surgery but not soo much nerve pain. It is a step down from tramadol and oxyicodon . Co codamol 30/50 is much less strong and much less addictive than xoycodem etc ( the opiate epidemic drug in the usa). I would try 30/50 and then if pain bad take opiates if the doctor gives them to you

re cbd only oil - this is ok but the thc part of cannabis is the intoxifying bit and this could help you and with a medical prescription you can take some - this connary cbd oil is legal in uk without prescription and it is the thc part that might help
