I have been having steroid injections in my thumbs due to osteo arthritis and wondered if these were OK to continue having as I now have osteoperosis?

I also have osteoporosis, and have received steroid injections for arthritic joints. They've had no effect on RLS, unlike oral courses of prednisone, which make my RLS much, much worse . (But if you have too many injections in the same joint, it *will* contribute to the deterioration of that joint, as I'm sure you already know. )

My understanding is that local injections of cortisone in inflamed joints stay localized and do not affect your overall bone density. Among my friends, it's women who were on long-term oral prednisone who have the most osteoporosis. But I would suggest that you speak to whoever it that's monitoring your bone density. Best of luck to you.
