I have severe RLS and I have had 2 at home sleep studies done. I was taking methadone when I had the first one done and it said I had mild obstructive sleep apnea.
The second at home sleep study was done just recently and during this test I was on gabapentin. This test also said I have mild obstructive sleep apnea .
I believe that this is caused by the medication. Has anyone else experienced this?

Although both meds can cause sleep apnoea, you may have had it before starting any meds.Dr Jose Thomas, a sleep specialist from Gwent Sleep Clinic, says he started to study & learn about RLS after realising ALL his sleep apnoea patients had RLS and PLMD.
Chicken & egg situation? Dr Thomas says that often, once sleep apnoea is treated, the RLS is also controlled without meds.
