what I use now

First, you must get a doctor who will sympathize with your RLS condition. We have tried many medications, but what works for me now is a Neupro patch which I wear 24 hours a day. At night I take tramadol 50 mg and to Temazepam 30 mg. I take Ferrous sulfate 325 mg twice a week. You must work with a doctor and find out what will work best for you. Dosages may go up, but this combination has helped me for quite a while. I feel your pain.

I'm not sure who you are writing to, but your advice is faulty and people should be aware of the dangers of following it.

Neupro is a dopamine agonist and subject to all the inherent dangers of medications such as Pramipexol and Ropinerol. Particularly augmentation.

Tramadol is a very good low dose opioids, suitable for short term use-- especially in withdrawal situations.

However, in a small proportion of cases ,it can also be subject to augmentation.

So-- while you have obviously achieved a satisfactory situation on you RLS journey, you are in some danger of meeting a roadblock in the future.

All the best-💚

3 months ago you said you were augmenting on a 6 mg Neupro patch and we gave you information to come off it. Obviously you didn't listen. The longer you are on it the harder it will be to come off it and the more likely your dopamine receptors will be damaged so you won't be able to absorb the iron you are taking and the now first line treatment gabapentin or pregabalin won't work. And it will get worse so a 6 mg patch won't work. Please listen to us and the many stories on this forum.

And your doctor is NOT a good doctor to put you on TWICE the maximum Neupro patch.

What is your ferritin?

Oh dear Mariba,Please find a new doctor asap.

This one is negligent.

Neupro is a dopamine agonist. It WILL increase severity of RLS.

Find a knowledgeable doctor who will help you get off Neupro.

There are many good doctors in the USA.

All dopamine agonists are now relegated to 'end of life scenarios' by experts.

I agree with all that has been said. We all speak from our own experience & whereby I know from experience that neupro patches is a wonder drug AT FIRST once it stops working (and in all cases we hear of including my own it does stop working) and you start augmenting it is absolute hell trying to come off it.
