I was originally trialing 5 microgram 7 day patches that got me out of that dark tunnel but wasn’t 100% effective so after the initial 3 week trial I wrote to Dr Christopher Murphy explained the situation and he arranged for me to collect 10 microgram 7 day patches from Salford Royal Infirmary. I applied the first one last night and slept from 11pm straight till 03.00 am got up went downstairs made a drink went back to bed at 04.00 am slept through till alarm woke me at 07.00 so have high hopes of a complete undisputed nights sleep. But will be very happy with results from last night as it was wonderful.

You will possibly remember I said my GP wouldn’t prescribe Pregabalin patches, and quoted several reasons that don’t hold water, and then gave some different reasons when my Consultant questioned it again. Well I spoke to the Pharmacist who shares the same building as the doctors and asked if she ever dispenses Buprenorphine Patches prescribed by doctors at the surgery and she replied that she does and couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t prescribe for me. The original partner is retiring soon so that will make the partner who I believe is blocking me the TOP DOGS DANGLING BITS and won’t he just love that.

Best wishes HipHop1972

Great that you are sleeping better. How utterly disgraceful that one doctor is determined to make you suffer.I wonder if you can complain to the GMC about him? Maybe ask your neurologist what he suggests?

Or start legal action against him for negligence in prescribing 6mg of Ropinirole.

And show him that article in the New Pathways Magazine. That case succeeded for 2 reasons. The GP didn't warn of the high risk of Impulse Control Disorder AND the GP prescribed 6mg Ropinirole, above the maximum dose.

I do hope karma gets him!

Thanks Joolsg, he didn’t prescribe it, I think it might have been the neurologist Professor who is being super helpful in setting up the system whereby I can collect my medication from the local hospital near me.

Don’t want to antagonise the surgery any more, everyone else there are lovely and I generally get on well with them, I’ll just make sure I never see that GP Partner. But thanks for your continued support
