Does anyone in the group know how common Parkinson’s is in RLS? In other words is this a chance association or are they linked / associated? Thanks

Https://rls-uk.org/faqs says "Most people with Restless Legs Syndrome have the "idiopathic" form - meaning there's no known cause. Consequently, there is currently no known risk of RLS progressing to more serious conditions, such as Parkinson's disease."

Thanks Sue.

Just wondered as they are both dopamine dependent, occur in the basal ganglia and have a genetic basis, is there a known risk of coexistence? Yes, my phraseology of RLS progressing to Parkinson’s is poor use of English.

Parkinson's certainly have a genetic component but only some RLS has a genetic component. I am one of them. But they are different genes.
