I had my first iron infusion yesterday. I will be going back next week for another one. I would appreciate any advice, thoughts or comments. I did mention to the hematologist that I would like to get my iron up to 300 but he said you will not attempt what he called “iron saturation”. His aim is to get me up to 100 and maintain it there.

Iron infusion
I've only just spotted this post. Many RLS sufferers get benefit from raising serum ferritin to 100 plus, but higher levels of 200 plus can help more. Few doctors are aware of this.
You've never completed your profile to show which country you live in, or your gender or age. But the 'normal range' that you'll see quoted is both very wide and varies from authority to authority.
The Cleveland Clinic says:
"For people assigned female at birth: 14.7 to 205.1.
For people assigned male at birth: 30.3 to 565.7."
The Mayo Clinic says:
"The typical range for blood ferritin is:
For men, 24 to 336.
For women, 11 to 307."
Etc.
Your haematologist's target of maintaining at 100 is very modest. It's still early to get any settled figures - ferritin usually spikes after an infusion and only settles down after a few weeks - but have you been given any results or feedback as yet?
