Today I had my review for my iron levels, I'll give you the short version. They were 179 in November post iron infusion and now at 101.
I explained I had to double my dose of pregabalin as 150mg wasn't working g ,yet 200mg had previously been too much but now wasn't working ,so I was now taking 300mg but feel quite sedated until mid day .
This was a locum gp who explained she couldn't change my prescription but was happy for me to try the neuro patches !!!! I explained these were a DA she argued ,neurology suggests they are fine .
When I tried to ask about methadone I was told I was out of time, I only get 15 minutes and if she goes over her boss will sack her ???!!! Seriously, is this our nhs ??
I explained this appointment was a review set up to reduce my pregabalin with support .
In short I left with 58 x 150mg pregabalin!

I feel for you: I have a scheduled *10* minute review of recent blood tests tomorrow at which the new doctor will probably try to convince me to go back on to statins or ezetimibe, despite previous two consultants and previous gp agreeing that I can't tolerate...but perhaps she'll surprise me!
I have been having home phone calls from my doctors as i can’t get to the surgery by myself. It’s usually a different doctor each time i speak to. But the last few home phones calls has been the same lady doctor dealing with my meds and she has spent up to half an hr talking to me going through what i have taken and listening to me when i have explained my problems with the meds at the end i said sorry i have taken up your time she said by listening she gets to understand how things are for me 😊
If your practice allows and encourages online communication it might be an idea to email your registered GP? Sometimes practice managers bat it back but it could enable you to ask questions in advance of your appointment.
I’m sorry the medication isn’t quite working for you. I despair of doctors in UK when it comes to managing this condition. There is more useful and practical advice on this forum than any conversation I’ve had with a GP
