Hi I was just wondering does anyone have some difficulty when going to the toilet I find i don't always empty my bladder when RLS isn't what else could be going on

As you are suffering drug-induced worsening on Ropinirole, it causes RLS to move to other body parts. It's moved to your bladder.

So now, you should DEFINITELY get off it as previously advised.

There is a link between RLS and bladder issues. This article suggests a reason. However, ignore the advice about dopamine agonists. They are no longer prescribed as first line treatment because they worsen the disease.

Ensure you empty bladder by rocking and using your hand to apply pressure ( crede manoeuvre). But see your GP as retention will cause UTIs.

Kegels exercises may help.

If it continues, see your GP and ask for a referral to a neuro urologist. They can arrange scans and a nurse to explain self catheterization, if needed.

But, getting off Ropinirole will solve the problem.

I’ve experienced this intermittently over the years and do equate it with flare ups of RLS. But it’s a very minor issue—more of a confusing annoyance. Hope yours is that low-key too. If it’s a real problem there is prescription medication that can help.
