Beady3, I'm awake, just got through writing to Orrell about trying medical marihuana, he's been approved but he's waiting for it to arrive. He said he will let us know if it truly works as they claim. Unfortunately I live in Florida, USA, and it's illegal here. A couple of nights ago I also forgot yo take my TRAMADOL on time so the RLS kicked in and it hit me all over, plus it took for ever to get back in control, till the weeee hrs in the morning.

It's awful when we forget the meds. I have been up all night too. What rubbish there is on TV. Hope you feel better today.

Me too. Awake two or three times in night. Bath leg ?

I am glad to see you forgot it!! WAIT - not being nasty. I sometimes forget to take my meds, normally when I am having fun, so I'm glad you had that distraction and I'm not the only one that forgets!

On the other hand it is such a pain in the @ss that a small lapse leaves so much discomfort. Sleep goes from "Resting in the arms of Morpheus" to "Night of the Living Dead".

IF Drs could calculate the damage caused to the person just due to the lack of sleep, ignoring the pain and fatigue caused by the RLS, I would imagine much more active attempts to treat us. Although things are a foot to capitalise on our misery -

Well Raffs you are very poetical this bright and breezy morning x

in reply to beady3

I slept last night - a couple of bad nights and at last reasonable albeit drugged sleep. I think if you asked Mrs raffs those would not be the words she would use to describe me any morning :).

Hope last night wasn't too taxing on you.

Oh dear, lots of sleep deprived members on here today. Beady, set your alarm for med time, so even when distracted by something else that alarm bell will keep going til you go and stop and pop that pill into your mouth. Its what i have to do these days, i have my phone that i set at different times for different meds. :)

Hi when i know I'm going to party etc I always set alarm on on my mobile as I did forget one time!!!! it was hell!!!! I was also awake from 1am, never go on laptop, read, or have tv on I read some were it's filling me head so I wouldn't not be able to go back to sleep ( I rarely go to sleep anyway). meds worked for about 6 months but now I'm surviving on about 3 hours sleep. Neurologist on the 5th July, fingers crossed I get some help.

SET ALARM :)

I agree on the not going on the laptop in the night or tv on. The brightness of the light can wake you RIGHT up and then trying to relax to try to sleep again can be hard to do. Reading with a nightlight can be a better idea to try out. If you can sit still longer enough. :) I used to go on my latop in the night when my RLS stopped me sleeping, but not these days. I have a pace, make a cuppa and then try to go back to bed and see if i can sleep, sometimes, just that getting up and moving can get me back to sleep. I know that people find it a comfort in the night, when they find any one else awake to talk to. I know i used to too. :)

Hi beady3 I was walking the floor even after taking my ropinerole, round and round the kitchen table while reading a who dunnit on my kindle. Tripped over the dog, bumped into the table a few times then fell asleep stood up with my head against the wall, quite proud of myself I still had a grip on my kindle haha :) we have to laugh otherwise we would go crazy. Hope you have a better night tonight xx

Erona , bad boy.... LOL. xx

Someone in another group seriously helped me get though the worst RLS that I ever had in my life over the last month. I had to quit taking oxycodone. Glen told me to have a plan.. a plan for every single hour that I would be awake. The withdraw wasn't the problem as much as the restless legs - I was told to take baths, listen to music that I liked, I had to scream into pillows until I was exhausted or laughed.. I did both. My legs were 100 times worse then ever - I just quit taking it because I was needing more and more of it to get the same effect and as you guessed my family was throwing a tissy about me being on it.. my behavior was all about getting more to stop the pain, stop the RLS. I have that nerve disease that is causing my nerves to fry out like a wick that shorts out and also my muscles are starting to die on me.. very painful to move when that starts happening. The brain connection is shorting right out to the muscles. I'm brave about it - and now I am here to say that RLS involves more than the muscles if anyone is thinking that.. I think that it's in the spine alone, actually.. and now that I hijacked your post, I will say it again, have a plan for activity to do if you wake with RLS so you don't sit around miserable and eat. I think that you need to do something to knock off the next days list as I did when Glen suggested doing so... and laugh when you can.. watching some funny television is better than studying about RLS - or reading something serious. Laughing releases dopamine, if not play a game because anticipation = dopamine release.. just make sure it's not online gambling for money. I play house of fun sometimes - fake gambling for points to go nowhere.. and myVegas to really go to Las Vegas one day again. It costs nothing gives me something quiet to do after my bath and chores.

Yikes, glad someone was there for you to give you the support you needed. :)
