Minipress?

PLMD off the charts last night and my diet was very good yesterday, so I am trying to explain it. Could it be new bp med minipress (prazosin)?

I guess it is always possible that something that didn't use to bother me now does?

Minipress shouldn't make PLMD worse but we all react to medicines differently so I guess it is possible.

Thanks, Sue. Guessing you meant "shouldn't"...

I found this post from 2018 where prazosin didn't seem to trigger RLS. But, as you are aware, we all react differently to meds.

Blood pressure meds are often trigger meds for RLS.

Funnily enough, in the last 2 weeks, my night time RLS/PLMD has gone crazy but I have no idea why. I’ve not been sleeping before 3:30-5:30am. BUT, the last 2 nights, in desperation, I took 2 Paracetamol just before going to bed. The improvement has been remarkable! Not sure what to make of that.

Paracetamol works by increasing serotonin and I find it somewhat sedative. While it also increases my RLS slightly, I have other medications that counteract it. Sometimes in desperation I use paracetamol as a sleeping pill… perhaps it also calms down some other disturbing sensations a bit.

You say that your diet was very good but without knowing wahat you ate it's impossible to pin down the cause.

Thanks all for your comments. I have a very restrictive diet but decided to take that idea to heart. The diet is based upon what worked pretty well for years with pregabalin. That stopped working about 8 months ago. I am 76 years old and I know that what worked yesterday does not necessarily work today. So my ability to eat small amounts of sugar or caffeine in the a.m. may not be okay anymore and I am going to be VERY strict all day and see if that helps. I am taking 8 mg. of morphine and think that is not a therapeutic dose for me, but haven't increased because my main health problem is my high blood pressure and I am very sensitive to meds and feel that is my first priority and don't want to make too many medicine variables happening at once. Anyway, many thanks again. On another front, I am more seriously meditating as part of the hypertension issue and ran into Ajahn Brahm videos. I love this guy. He is so goofy joyful--even after my terrible night last night he made me smile and get ready for the day, in a moment I would be dragging if not miserable.
