A number of people have posted on the forum recently and the symptoms didn't sound like RLS.
Akathisia is VERY similar to RLS and is usually caused by the same medications that trigger RLS for us. Often an increase in the medication can trigger Akathisia.
Anti psychotics, anti nausea meds, and calcium channel blockers are the main culprits. It is thought that they block dopamine 2 receptors in the brain.
However, akathisia usually resolves when the medications are stopped.
If anyone is taking anti psychotics, they are probably suffering akathisia rather than RLS.
Akathisia can occur at any time, whereas RLS happens mainly late evening and at night. This article discusses the differences.
