Joolsg took cannabis for a week and it was then gone. Or you could get Kytril (Sustol, Granisetron, Sancuso), Anzemet (Dolasetron) or Zofran (ondansetron). Zofran is best but may be hard to get.

Yes. I used medical cannabis oil with 20% THC for a week. When I stopped, the nausea and vomiting had stopped.Alternatively, ask for Zofran, but that has its own side effects.

I found that I was getting nausea with the opiod Targin. It turned out to be mini withdrawals and once I split the dose and had one tablet at night and one in the morning the nausea disappeared. If your morphine dose is short acting you may have mini withdrawals that are causing the nausea.

what remedy did you use for the nausea?

I found that the nausea wasn’t directly caused by Targin but by the withdrawal effect due to only having it at night. When the Targin wore off the nausea started. It was usually in the afternoon. Once it was so bad I ended up in ER. By having Targin in the morning as well as at night the nausea stopped. Another solution would be to switch to a 24 hour opiod like Buprenorphine.

When I started Buprenorphine, I had horrible nausea ans vomiting for three weeks. Ondansetron was a bad mix with Bup, so it was ginger beer in sips and saltines, just like being pregnant….

Hi wantokporo, How long have you been taking it and at what dose?, if you don’t mind me asking , I understand if you don’t want to say it’s personal. If you read online it is common for Morphine to cause Nausea on first taking it , it took me at least two months before, I came more accustomed to it and I only take a small dose, three times aday. I still have days when it makes me feel sick, but because it helps my condition I tolerate that . Good luck in the future.

Had to back off because I need to address very high bp first. Hopefully will start in two weeks or so.

If and when you do go back on morphine one way of working out if it is mini withdrawals causing the nausea is to take some morphine when the nausea starts and see if this gets rid of it.
