Just to keep you all up to date.

I have been on 50mg daily of Agomelatine, for depression, foe the padt month. I feel the best I have felt in years!.

Severe restless legs are 75% better. Some nights I have no rls at all.

Always good to have a good news story - especially for me after the last 6 months when I could quite happily have given up!

I also finally have a neurologist appointment in a weeks time. That will be interesting as opposed to a sleep specialist.

That's great news indeed!

Do you take any other meds, or is it just the agomelatine?

There have been research reports that it triggers RLS in some people, but you seem to be fine.

So that's encouraging news.

That’s wonderful news Trish! So glad you found something that works for you. I looked it up and found that it hasn’t been approved here in the US.

Long may it continue!

How are you going on the agomelatine Trish?

I understand that it's not PBS listed. Can i ask how much you pay for it?

A friend has recently started taking it (for depression not RLS), and it rang a bell for me so i looked up HealthUnlocked and saw that it was your post that i'd read recently. I understand that it can help with sleep generally. Do you find that?

Sorry I missed this. Yes, I am still on Agomelatine. I am still slightly depressed, but guess it takes time. I still have restless legs but only about three times a week and far less intense.

I pay about A$70 per month. I have been told I can claim this back on private health but life has even a bit overwhelming of late so havnt done this yet.

Overall I feel much better than prior to the medication, but it is a work in progress. I also strongly believe that diet has a major role in my restless legs. I eat very simple, healthy food, no refined sugars, caffeine or alcohol and nothing after 7pm. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thanks for your reply Trish. I'm pleased to hear there has been improvement in your RLS and i hope that it continues to improve your depression. I find that an ultra-clean diet (no processed food whatsover) helps my RLS considerably, to the point that i rarely get RLS these days. I do still experience periodic limb movement however.
