Has anyone ever used marijuana gummies for rls. I know the marijuana you smoke helps. Since I cant smoke it, I want to try gummies. I know people who use it for insomnia and pain. They said it works.

Several people have. Unfortunately, I can't name them or recall their exact experiences, and as usual, they differ. But: do you know you can easily search through the posts? You can use the word gummies, but also THC, CBD and Delta8, etc. And filter for the RLS forum.

I have tried several for my combo of insomnia and rls. I started by trying the CBD tinctures and gummies and found that for me, they didn't help and sometimes exacerbated my rls. I worked my way to the gummies that have more thc than CBD, although I'm quite curious about CBN which is supposed to help you stay asleep. Because I am super sensitive to any medication/herbs, I literally start with trying the lowest dose gummy and take 1/4 of one piece. Even if you are not sensitive, I would start by taking the smallest dose they recommend or less just to see how it affects you. The most important thing to know is that if you haven't tried them before to wait for at least an hour to take more if they are not working sufficiently. I have a package that says to wait a half hour, but for me it takes almost an hour and a half to start working and if you add on too early you can take too much.

Yes, lorri214, I have consumed 10 mg of Indica marijuana for my severe restless legs for more than 10 years now. I am not a doctor or medical person, just someone with a bad case of RLS who has persistently searched around for some way to sleep at night. I am not recommending marijuana. You must decide. I am only sharing my experience with it. It has been a very successful way of getting me past my RLS symptoms so I can sleep again. I mention Indica variety of cannabis because it has the least "high" impact, compared to the Sativa variety which results in more of a "high" effect like we wanted back in the 60's. Indica affects the brain/nerve system without a "high" effect. I am 80 years old. I am no longer looking for the "high". I want my RLS symptoms to be reduced or eliminated so I can sleep. I have found that I can cut each sour gummy in half, thus 5mg of cannabis, and that is almost as good, though sometimes I again feel RLS symptoms in the early morning. I have tried only CBT, another non-psychotropic part of cannabis, without THC, but that hasn't worked. I have heard that it has worked for some people, but I have never met anyone for whom that worked. If you have never consumed or smoked marijuana you should start very slowly, maybe with 2 or 3mg, or at most 5mg, until you get accustomed to it. The first night or two of consumption of marijuana, if you have never taken it before, can result in your feeling a little paranoid ("what's that sound I hear in the house", etc ). But that usually goes away after one or two nights. If you have RLS symptoms all throughout the day I would be careful about taking any THC products while you are trying to function normally during the day. It does impact your judgment and mental acuity, which isn't a problem at night but could be during the day. I hope this helps. Maybe others will have even more experience that might help. I want to wish you well in your search for effective ways of managing your RLS. Sometimes it feels like a lonely quest. But you need to know that there are many, many of us out here who are on the same quest for effective ways of reducing or eliminating RLS in our lives and allowing us to sleep again. I wish you well in finding a solution for your RLS.

I got the gummies, but they did not work. I don't think they were strong enough. They were called blood orange, 20 mg cbd and 1 mg thc. I took one. Now I will try two. I will go back to the dispensary and ask about indica. It gets to be expensive though. 10 gummies cost $30 and they dont work. I can't keep trying them at $30 a shot. What do you think? 1 mg not strong enough. I would really like to get off the oxycodone. I have been taking it over 10 years.

Thanks for your help.

I take 10 mg of Indica marijuana every night. That amount works well for me. I pay about $24 for 10 gummies. When I cut them in half they usually work also. CBD doesn’t work for me. But that may be simply an individual scenario. Good luck in finding what works for you.

On vacation (mj is illegal here in nebraska) i tried a gummy mj from a dispensary that was called "rest" they came in a bag of about 20 i think and were not super expensive. I was only in the state where rec mj is available to purchase 1 night so based on 1 night it conked me out without making me feel high or paranoid. There are people who work those dispensaries that can give very good reccommendations. I slept for 5 hours straight which felt like a miracle

One last note that I forgot to mention. In my case, it takes about one hour to an hour and a half for the impact of the sour gummies to be felt and the RLS symptoms to disappear. Don't be impatient. It takes awhile for your body to adjust to the THC. Take it at least an hour before you are planning on trying to go to sleep. It takes that long for the effect of the THC to be felt in your body and brain. A mistake people make, that ilovebluewater mentions above is that they don't think the marijuana is having an effect and they take more. Then they really are impacted by too much THC. Be patient. I am usually an impatient patient. It took me awhile to adjust my thinking and wait patiently for the impact of the Indica THC.
