RLS: Has anyone tryed marijuana for rls... - Restless Legs Syn...
RLS
Yes, I found it helped when my symptoms were mild however when it didn't work it left me walking round the house tripping out and made the night seem to last even longer!
I am using CBD which comes from the marijuana plant but does not contain THC (which is the component that gets one high). CBD is used effectively with cancer patients among other things. CBD is the ONLY thing that has stopped my RLS. I cannot take any of the dopamine like drugs because of agmentation and I won't go the narcotic route. I get the CBD in capsules although it can be smoked. I do live in the state of Washington where both medical and recreational marijuana is legal. The down side is the cost. I cannot afford to take the medication on a daily basis. Look up CBD on the internet. There is some promising research that has already been done regarding the benefits of CBD. When I asked my nuerologist about marijuana (both CBD and THC) and he said there was not enough research but to go with what works. Just to note marijuana with THC did not affect my RLS. Hope this helps. M
it is not legal here in Ga. i could get it from my Dr, if it would work but have not seen any thing saying it did but not any thing works for long and i have had RLS all my life and it gets worst the older i get i am 68 now
I have read some of the literature and research and CBD looks very promising. All I can say is that it completely gets rid of my symptoms ( I am 64 and my RLS has progressed also). One capsule lasts about 3 hours for me. I believe once more of the research is accepted this extract from the marijuana plant can help with different nuerological conditions. Hopefully, it will become more affordable and in our lifetime available for those who can really benefit.
I'm waiting for the Dispensaries to open in Oregon in July. I've been studdying which strains are effective, need to find out If effective, are they affordable
Tried Marijuana butter topically the night Pot was legalized in Oregon. IIt worked, but I think it was a placebo effect, Butter and THC or CBD isn't going to be absorbed through the skin. Leaves, stems, flowers soaking in DMSO might produce an absorbable treatment, though I'll try tinctures and/or oils ingested before spread very expensive cannabis on my legs. M Butter was good on chips. Study before you buy. This isn't like buying a baggie anymore. I've found very few, as in none, doctors who know anything about this newly legalized medicine, Discouraging, but they're too busy and play(research) on Google like dedicated Night Dancers can do. Dance the night away, while reading scholarly journals. Perhaps, just maybe, a plane will crash in some unknown, never visited country, The Survivors will return with the cure for Everything, Fantasy Flowers.
The Rush for the cure will begin invading well.. you've watched the same movie as you sat or lay there, eyes burning, all night, dancing and swearing, dancing and swearing.
If you want to try Cannabis topically look into DMSO:

There are videos on youtube of people using it topically to treat skin cancer with amazing results - mind you that is just using Rick Simpsons oil.
Yeah have used it regularly. To me it is very strain dependant some work very well some not so well. A bit like the other drugs its hit and miss.
Since you are using the term Marijuana I will assume you are American and if you live in a state where Cannabis is legal I would advise you try a variety of ones known to help RLS, some strains below:
