Is anyone on this forum in the uk given access to blood test results by their gp on the online platforms i.e. mygp, patient access or nhs apps

blood tests
Yes. My surgery dowloads ALL tests and vaccines to the NHS app. My recent blood tests are there.
Thanks for that Jools
I told my receptionist that my daughter who is with a different gp gets her blood tests on her patient access phone app and she said her gp shouldnt be doing that 🥴
My gp has said they will print off my blood test results for me to collect but if they can do that why cant they give access via the app
The usual NHS postcode lottery nonsense. Patient Access is pretty safe, so I don't know why your GP surgery is so anti. I find it easier to show info to my 2 neurologists, MS nurse team and urologist via the NHS App. It's faster than them requesting the info via snail mail from the GP surgery.
Yes, via Patient Access.
I asked my GP surgery for that and they told me it's not possible. After signing a form and showing a proof of ID, I managed to get a print out. Nightmare!
So power passed, its not necessary ,my gp said she wasn't changing my meds so I said we'll I'm sitting here until you do
I use the NHS app. I can see all my medical history, including blood test results, right back to my childhood vaccinations, and that was a long time ago. I do not think it is the GP practice that uploads the results, I think they are uploaded to your NHS number automatically. The last time I had a blood test done, my results were on the app the next day - less than 24 hours after the nurse at my GP practice took the blood. There is no way my GP practice is that efficient!
All my blood tests are available in my patient records viewable through the NHS Phone App. I believe the results are sent to the surgery who add it to my record but I could be wrong. My patient records are accessible via a 3rd Party Partner which is Patient Access I believe, like Jools. Additionally I can see my full health record including the Doctors notes from each appointment, any referrals and other information. As far as I know this is pretty standard and once you have set up access via the NHS App with a little information from the surgery you can go in anytime and see all this information.
Thanks to everyone for your helpful response
I am already registered on the nhs app and have access to medicines immunisations and allergies but when i go on test results it says your gp has not allowed access to this so maybe its up for discussion at my next face to face appt
I tend to use mygp app because i can book face to face appts with my gp whereas i cant on nhs app
Oh for a world where everything is simple and straightforward 😊
I get my blood test results on " the patient knows best " portal/ site, as for anything else I get the third degree from my GP even though it is my right to see my medical history. It no doubt depends on your GP/surgery policy.
Hello Nikon- yes I’m in the Uk and have access to all my health records appoints and much more via the HHS App. but I can’t remember how it occurred so would suggest you speatto your GP surgery and enquire. I find it an extremely useful tool as more and more surgeries are going digital.
Good luck and I hope you manage it. Best wishes HipHop1972
Yes, via the NHS APP the GP’s own app and via Airmid UK app.
Yes. I see mine
I can see mine on my GP app surgery at system on line have access to my GP records etc and can view results. I .currently waiting for yesterday's blood test results not sure why but had a blood test form for urgent retest again 3rd one in about 6 weeks though my creatine levels were high 205 and then followed by urgent retest a week later went down to 170 which is average for me with single kidney and stage 4 stage 3b or whatever grading it is now. I'm not sure if it was requested by my nephrology or renal doctor consultation as under virtual clinic assessment and review on 6month basis on blood tests normally 3 monthly 6 monthly. As soon as I feel unwell tired I contact my GP and blood forms are issued. I don't follow any particular diet or anything as never been advised like most in the UK.
I did have a discussion with my GP after the high blood test results and they said something about the flow rates extra had decreased by a lot and for the first time I see the mention of A1 or Acute renal failure or kidney failure to me that was the scary part as never seen the term before and still don't know what this means exactly or maybe just another phrase for kidney disease rather than failure which I'm hoping nothing serious as only one kidney.
I see the results of all tests arranged by my GP, on Patient Access often within 48 hours, giving me plenty of time to "analyse" them before I'm hauled in for a chat. When I've mentioned a recent BP reading that I've taken, that's added too.
Rather alarmingly, my TAVI surgeon doesn't have access to them, though on request the GP will make the latest available. The same with the gastroenterologist I saw privately on Tuesday, though he also works at the hospital where I had various cardiology scans. I suspect that in the New Year he will be referring me to a haematologist at the same private hospital; I would have thought that my historic results would have been of interest, not just the latest.
When Patient Access became available, I glanced back over the last few years' worth, to April 2014, when I had a nasty insect bite. Several blood tests had said that I hadn't got Lyme Disease, but at the time my GPs did not mention anything about the spectacular fluctuations in my blood counts. Nowadays I would be able to press them about these.
